About us

Boomerang Community Centre is a welcoming community hub based in the Stobswell area of Dundee, Scotland. At the heart of everything we do is a simple aim: to create a safe, inclusive space where people of all ages can come together, feel supported, and take part in community life.

We provide a wide range of services and activities designed to support wellbeing, reduce social isolation and strengthen connections within the local community. These include youth clubs, health and wellbeing programmes, our daily lunch club, Stay & Play toddler sessions, a community food larder, reminiscence groups and many other activities that bring people together.

Many people visit Boomerang for practical support, while others come simply for a chat, a hot meal, or the opportunity to take part in something new. Our programmes are shaped by the needs and interests of the community, and we work closely with local partners, volunteers and supporters to ensure our centre remains a place where everyone feels welcome.

Above all, Boomerang is about connection. Whether someone is learning a new skill, making friends, accessing support or volunteering their time, the centre provides opportunities for people to build confidence, share experiences and feel part of something positive in their community.

Below you can find our Annual Reports, which provide more detail about our activities, impact and achievements each year.

OUR VISION

We believe everyone deserves to feel connected, supported and part of their community. Our vision is for Stobswell and the surrounding areas to be places where people of all ages can thrive, where neighbours know and support one another, and where everyone has access to opportunities that improve wellbeing, confidence and quality of life.

OUR MISSION

Boomerang exists to provide a safe, welcoming and inclusive community space where people can come together, build relationships and access support. Through a wide range of activities, services and partnerships, we work to reduce social isolation, improve health and wellbeing, and create opportunities for people to learn, volunteer and take part in community life.

OUR COMMUNITY IMPACT

Every week, Boomerang welcomes hundreds of local people through our doors. From toddlers attending Stay & Play sessions, to older residents joining our lunch club or reminiscence groups, our centre provides opportunities for people to connect, share experiences and support one another.

Alongside our activities, we provide practical support through initiatives such as our community food larder, affordable meals and wellbeing programmes. Many people come to Boomerang during difficult times, and the centre offers not only services but a friendly, familiar place where people feel valued and supported.

Much of what we do is made possible through the dedication of our staff, volunteers and supporters, whose commitment helps ensure that Boomerang continues to be a positive and welcoming presence in the community.

The work of Boomerang is made possible through the generosity of our funders, sponsors and community supporters. To learn more about the organisations that help sustain our work, please visit our Our Supporters page.
