Volunteer

We are looking for volunteers who can help at our busy reception area with tasks such as answering the phone, welcoming people to the centre and signing them in. Other tasks may include photocopying, recording some monitoring information, taking in payments for groups and other small admin duties.

A kitchen worker is required to assist staff in preparing meals for our older people’s lunch club and snacks for the toddler groups. The centre cooks all food on a daily basis on site and this position entails all areas from preparation to serving. Other main duties relate to dish washer operation, kitchen surface cleaning and table setting and cleaning. All of these activities to be conducted to agreed standards.

The Befriending role will entail visiting older people at home offering support to people within the Stobswell area who would otherwise be socially isolated. The role entails chatting with clients helping them reminisce, provide support accessing community activities and accompanying them on short trips outside the home.

We are looking for volunteers to give us a hand in our kitchen after our daily Lunch Club. The role would involve washing, drying, and putting away dishes. This would be a weekday afternoon post from 12:3-2pm each day. If you can only volunteer one day a week, please do still apply! Our kitchen team and service users are friendly, and you would be working in an atmosphere with a great community spirit.

We are looking for volunteers to help at our various youth provisions. We have a youth art group that runs every Friday evening and we also have children and families cooking classes.

The volunteer role will involve working with our youth worker and project worker to deliver art groups, cooking groups or other groups as part of our youth provision. The role will include, setting up and tidying up before and after sessions, working with the young people on various projects, engaging with the young people to help them develop and to find out what they would like to do. To adhere to our safeguarding policy and follow all relevant procedures.

We are looking for volunteers to help at our “freecycle” area. This has clothes and shoes that people can select for free. The volunteer would help keep the area tidy and help people choose items suitable for their needs

The volunteer role will include stock control, sorting donations, tidying the rails and helping people to choose suitable items for their needs.The freecycle area is open at the same time as the larder so you may also have to direct people to the food larder or the cosy café.

We are looking for more volunteers to help at our Cosy Cafe on Monday-Friday mornings.

The volunteer role will involve helping to set up for the Cosy Café opening, serving those attending their tea and toast, chatting to them and signposting elsewhere if needed as well as helping to clear dishes and tidying up at the end of the session. The Cosy Café runs 10-1130 so we would be looking for volunteers to help the Cosy Café Support Worker from 930am-12pm.

We are looking for some garden volunteers to help maintain the Centre grounds.

The volunteer will maintain the grounds at the centre with weeding, planting and harvesting veg in the planters, watering plants and other general garden maintenance. Our lead Garden Volunteer will give tasks to be completed each week. Volunteer times are flexible throughout the week Mon-Fri 9am-4pm.
